Olsen Jack Tumblin Bruce Gooch Northwestern University ∗ 1 Contrast-based Attention Model Analysis As shown in Figure 1, we conducted a preliminary evaluation of our Color2Grey algorithm via a contrastbased image attention model by Ma and Zhang [Ma and Zhang 2003]. These results indicate that the color2gray results maintain the visual salience charateristics of the original color images on the average better than Adobe Photoshop’s grayscale methods.
